Results Summary
Forty adults with symptoms of rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis or facial dermatitis were evaluated after topical application of Noredol® Skin Care Gel, a cosmetic cis-trans-1,4-cyclohexanediol product. The clinical scores for erythema, papules, pustules, teleangiectasia and additionally the itching and burning sensation were determined at baseline and after 1, 2 and 3 weeks of gel application. A dramatic improvement of the global clinical scores related to erythema, inflammation, papules and pustules, and reduction of itching and burning sensation, were recorded. Noticeably, the global clinical score for teleangiectasia was also significantly improved. No clinically relevant side effects of the treatment were observed. The authors suggest that the cis-trans-1,4-cyclohexanediol, an ingredient in the formulation of Noredol® Skin Care Gel, is safe and effective in the everyday cosmetic treatment of inflammatory erythematous skin conditions of adults with rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis and face dermatitis.
